DoxTek Receives 2011 Best of Business Award for Document Management in Utah

DoxTek was recently awarded the 2011 Best of Business Award for Document Management in Utah by the Small Business Commerce Association Community.  The SBCA Community recognizes smaller businesses that many times are overshadowed by larger corporations.  This award was given to DoxTek because we “are a valuable asset to [our] community and exemplify what makes small businesses great.”

 

DoxTek won this award two years ago in 2009 and feels honored to have received it again.  President of DoxTek, Michael Miles, said upon hearing of the award, “We are honored by the recognition and would like to thank the SBCA for the award. At DoxTek we have joined together a group of outstanding individuals. This technical expertise and our relentless commitment to customer service has set us apart and helped has have one our most successfull years ever as a company in 2011.”

 

DoxTek continues to be a leading provider of electronic document management solutions.  This year will be our 12th year in business and we are excited to continue serving those businesses searching for an electronic solution to their paper-based information.  We are confident 2012 will be a successful year as we continue to provide the best customer service and the best products to our customers.

DoxTek Welcomes Joel Lopez

We are excited to welcome Joel Lopez as the newest addition to the DoxTek team.  Joel comes to DoxTek with over 8 years of OnBase document management software engineering experience.  He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Information Technology and is currently working on his CompTIA A+ Certification.

 

Joel resides in the desert heat of Mesa, Arizona along with his lovely wife Neyza.  When he is not working, Joel likes to draw and watch movies.

 

Joel will be working at DoxTek as a software engineer, primarily with our customers on projects and support for the OnBase document management software suite.  OnBase is an enterprise document management software product that helps organizations large and small manage electronically the paper and automate the processes associate with doing business and conducting operations. DoxTek is the only OnBase certified reseller and solution provider in Utah and with the help of Joel our engineering team has become even stronger.

Novell’s AP Scanning & Document Management System

I was recently able to visit with Chris Lundquist from Novell about the value of the Accounts Payable scanning and document management system DoxTek implemented for them over 5 years ago. Chris is the AP manager for the Utah service center and has been with the company for over 11 years. Back in 2003 and 2004 DoxTek worked with Chris to implement a scanning and document management solution for the expense reports their consultants submitted when they worked with Novell clients. Following the scanning of expense reports they expanded to the scanning of invoices as well. Originally scanning was conducted at the Provo, Utah campus of Novell exclusively, but it has now expanded to include their service center in Dublin, Ireland.


Following payment these expense reports and invoices are fed through a high-speed document scanner where scanning software reads a barcode off the document, links the document to a reference number in the Oracle Financial system and then stores the documents for easy search and retrieval via a secure web interface. These documents are accessible to designated Novell employees 24X7 from anywhere in the world.


It was rewarding to visit with Chris and understand how successful this system has been for him and for the company as a whole.
